First of all, big shout out to Mike. He’s very confident he can help you and dude is actually quite knowledgeable. He actually answers the phone and you’ll feel a peace of mind talking to him. Although, if your a paranoid person like me you’ll still have your doubts when you hang up the phone. 🤣
Alright, so I am a light smoker. One to two hits just enough to yet high from time to time. Back in August 2021 after I started a new job I would take a puff of some gas every weekend once a day Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Never went more than 1 hit but was enough to get me to my desired state of mind. I’d say my use stayed like this through the month of August and into September. Around late October into November it picked up to once a day all week long. Sometimes I’d miss a day. It stayed like this until December when I got the call an opening I had been waiting for had been posted. So December 8th, I applied and immediately quit smoking as I knew they conducted hair follicle drug test. I aced the interview and got a call back a week later saying they wanted to move forward. Stressfully happy time.
I honestly thought the process would take at least two months because this company tends to take a while with their process. They are very hard to get on with in the first place. It was hard as hell to be excited about it and I’m sure HR could hear a slight panic in my voice as I had only been clean 1 months and 2 weeks prior to that call. In a panic I was looking for a solution because I knew Zydot alone would not have worked for me as I began to frequent the tree more often leading up to December.
Got a hold of Mike’s macujo method as this wasn’t the first time I needed a quick fix but last time I was 2 months and 29 days clean. I didn’t need his long and rigorous method back then. Anyhow, did my research which involved a lot of review reading here and also on Amazon. I ended up not waiting and purchasing the Aloe Rid (NOT ALOE TOXIN RID) that also came with zydot. Due to an inability to calm down and too many mixed reviews, I finally called Mike. I thought I purchased the wrong shampoo. He gave me the whole backstory on Toxin Rid, the original formula as well as the new macujo aloe shampoo (macujo and original are the same formula apparently).
Turns out, I bought the right one and he told me what I would get in the box and when it arrived it was all there. That was a slight relief. I am a medium build black dude with 1/4 native so very curly hair black hair. I rock a bald fade (at least a 2 on top, none of sides and back of head) and a long beard. Mike recommended 7 to 9 washes and to shave my beard.
I began the washes the night I got my order. I followed all nine steps. I did 4 washes in four days. I listened to mikes advice and didn’t use any conditioner between washes. I just continued to go to work as as usual. I did however, use a new towel each day and clean pillow cases and clean doo rags each night.
I even worked in my doo rag. The washes didn’t hurt my head as bad as some have reported. But, the one piece of advice I didn’t follow was to shave my beard. I instead decided to wash it along with my head. THAT SHIT WAS EXCRUCIATING! By time for wash number 5 my face was so dry and tight that I could barely open my mouth. I had dead skin caked on my jaw line and my face was very sore. Honestly on wash 4 I couldn’t move my head too fast because the burning sensation from the c/c and vinegar was so just too bad. So again, by time for wash 5 I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I knew I’d be damaging something at this point. So I didn’t. I called Mike that morning because all the while I felt like I wasn’t doing the baking soda or the tide step right and wanted some clarification. I got it.
Also, as I just couldn’t take anymore punishment I wanted to purchase a home test kit to see how many more washes I would need and wanted to know about how quickly I could get it and the results as I expected my test to be within the next 5 days. This was on a Monday. He will suggest you buy the hair confirm test kit.
He actually didn’t even sale me one from his website, he suggested I buy one from cvs to save time. I didn’t have a cvs local to my hometown so I couldn’t do that and our Walmart didn’t carry them in store. I panicked a little bit and read reviews as well on this kit.
I ended up not liking what I was reading which lead me to think of alternatives. I finally got the bright idea of paying a local occupation clinic to conduct a personal hair test that same day. (This is the only way to go!) Luckily for me, the lab that my personal test was being sent to was the exact same lab that the real test would be sent to. So again, I’m four washes in of the recommended 7 to 9 and I go get a personal test conducted.
Mike says that beard hair is much more course and probably harder to clean due to this fact. I had the lady take her sample from my beard. I stopped washing my hair and started conditioning my face for the next few days while I waited on my results. I finally got my results on Thursday morning and was negative for all substances. I felt confident enough to pass the real test at this point. I gave an excuse to my potential employer the Friday before so which bought me an extra week. But because my results came in so quickly I decided to go ahead and test the day after getting my personal results. I woke up that Friday morning and did wash number 5 (all nine steps) followed by zydot.
This time it was so much easier since I had about 2 or 3 days off and conditioning the whole time off of the washes. The tester pull from the top back side if my head. I am still waiting for the real test results as I write this. I will report back when I know. All in all, Mike gets 5 stars for being so helpful without even looking to make a buck.
